It is with deep sadness that I report the news of the death of my father.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

There was plenty of things to see. Display plus a slideshow playing throughout that period of time before and after lunch.
Lunch will be served at 1:00 pm
Following lunch there was a special 30-minute slideshow on my father's timeline through life. There was over 40 family and friends that attended that day.

Floyd Arthur Heidelberger Sr - Birth September 18th, 1927
in Chippewe County Wisconsin on the family farm.
History of the Town of Sampson
The township of Sampson was formed in 1889. Until 1889, Bloomer Township encompassed the area known today as Sampson Township. The Town of Sampson is named after Admiral William T. Sampson, hero of the Spanish-American War.
The first town hall was located on Town Hall Road at the site of where the present-day hall is. Pine Grove school served as the town hall until 1992, when the current building was built.
In the early history of Sampson, the area was divided into four areas: Lakeville, Tillinghast, Paulson, and Mud Brook. Lakeville, Tillinghast, and Paulson all had post offices for their residents.
In 1876, Tillinghast opened a bank in Vanville (later changed to Bloomer). In the northern corner of the township is an area known as “Twin Lakes.” This small community contained a school, cemetery, dance pavilion, a post office, and a store named the Paulson Store.
One other area was known as Lakeville. That area was also known for its stopping place along the Chippewa Trail for loggers and travelers heading north. The last area is east of Highway 40 and is known as Mudbrook. The area was primarily owned by lumber companies and was not highly settled. This is probably the reason for no post office, even though the area is quite large.
When Floyd Arthur Heidelberger Sr. was born on September 18, 1927, in the Town of Sampson in Chippewa County,Wisconsin, his father, Edward William Heidelberger, was 36 and his mother, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kranz - Heidelberger,was 37. He had four brothers and one sister at the time.

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kranz - Heidelberger 1889–1963
Was born on October 10, 1889, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, his father, Henry, was 45 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 42. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kranz on March 29, 1913, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. They had six children in 13 years. He died on May 22, 1976, in Anoka, Minnesota, at the age of 86.
When Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kranz was born in June 1889 in Hennepin, Minnesota, her father, Peter, was 31, and her mother, Margaret, was 24. She married Edward William Heidelberger and they had six children together. She then married William Henry Brown and they had four children together. She died on August 18, 1963, in Wisconsin at the age of 74, and was buried in Rusk, Wisconsin.
My father was less than a year old at the time.

Two husbands and Wives Involved in Domestic Mix-up – Children, Too.
Two divorce cases will prove of more than ordinary interest to people of northern Chippewa county and southern Barron county when they are heard in the Circuit Court here in Chippewa Falls.
The cases are those of Mrs. William Brown against William Brown and Edward Heidelberger against Mrs. Lizzie Heidelberger. The cases will be of unusual interest because they are expected to help straighten out the involved domestic relations of the two families.
For the last six or seven weeks, Mrs. Brown has been keeping house for Mr. Heidelberger and Mrs. Heidelberger has been keeping house for Mr. Brown. Not only that, but when Mrs. Brown moved into the Heidelberger home, she took her three boys and most of her furniture with her. One girl, Mary is working in New Auburn, and another, Bessie, is married.
And when Mrs. Heidelberger moved into the Brown home, she took all six of her children and most of her furniture with her. The exchange took place about six weeks ago and all appear satisfied, including the children.
The engagement ring Brown gave Mrs. Brown 20 years ago now adorns Mrs. Heidelberger’s finger. Mrs. Brown says her husband gave her $5 for it, but she would have sold it to him for ten cents. Mrs. Brown wears no ring but Mrs. Heidelberger says she gave hers back to her husband. The Brown home is eight miles east of New Auburn and the Heidelberger home is three miles from the Brown’s.
Both Brown and Mrs. Brown were born in Chippewa County and have lived in this county all their lives. The Heidelberger’s moved from Minnesota about five years ago.
Brown, in addition to his duties around the farm, collects milk and delivers it at Bloomer twice a week.
Mrs. Brown says her husband told her one morning about six weeks ago that Mrs. Heidelberger was going to keep house for him and he wished she would go away. She went to see Mr. Heidelberger, she says, and he told her she might as well keep house for him.
Both families still maintain amicable relations, it is said, and during the furniture moving, the two men pitched in and helped load the “heavier stuff”. None of the four principals will say what their plans are in the event the divorces are granted. In the meantime, Brown has been ordered to pay Mrs. Brown $25 a month to help take care of the children.

Essex received damage. A kamikaze hit the port edge of her flight deck landing among planes gassed for takeoff causing extensive damage, killing 16, and wounding 44.

Just doesn't cut it Tabitha. The next time just take a few moments to check out your facts before posting things on Facebook especially about a person's death. I am glad that I caught it within 2 hours of your posting. I could have easily missed it and not caught it for a week. I was in the process of preparing to go to Cancun, Mexico for my son's wedding at the time. Click Here I can't even imagine the hurt that you would have caused if one of my children or one of my grandchildred would have read your posting on Facebook before I actually spotted it. I also can't imagine the damage that you would have caused if your posting would have crossed over to one my other Facebook sites like my High School or my Military sites. Friends all over the country would have been misinformed and at that point it probably would have been impossible to stop it from traveling all over Facebook and the Internet.

Heidelberger, Norma Mae Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother Age 88, passed away on February 14, 2008. Survived by Floyd, the love of her life and husband of 50 years; daughters, Patricia Meagher and Barbara Graen; grandchildren, Sheryl Wolf, Wanda Duffy, Todd Snyder, Denise Ochu and Maryjo Kline; 7 great-grandchldren; 1 great-great- grandson. Preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Irene Duffy; brother, Rodney Tisdale. Norma received her nursing degree in 1957 and proudly served in that capacity for all of her working life. She was born and raised in Minnesota, but lived for many years in Florida, California and Nevada before retiring to Minnesota. Special thanks to the Princeton Elim Home for their compassion and care. No one has a perfect relationship with their parents. My father your step-father. We may have exchanged harsh words from time to time. We may have passed up opportunities to be with him. Forgive yourself, I have and realize that he was not a perfect person by any standards. I know you can’t believe he’s gone. He’s left our world behind and though he’s moving on his light will always shine for us. The love he gave us in his own peculiar way. I believe he always cared for us. His laughter, his humor and his pride that stinking Pride they he had will always inspire us to cast his fault aside. I think he would have said "Go after your dreams with all your heart!" I will live this day as if it is my last. This day is all I have and these hours are now my eternity. I greet this sunrise with cries of joy as a prisoner who is reprieved from death.
I lift mine arms with thanks for this priceless gift of a new day. So too, I will beat upon my heart with gratitude as I consider all who greeted yesterday’s sunrise who are no longer with the living today.
I am indeed a fortunate man and today’s hours are but a bonus, undeserved. Why have I been allowed to live this extra day when others, far better than I, have departed.
Is it that they have accomplished their purpose while mine is yet to be achieved. Is this another opportunity for me to become the man I know I can be.

Fort Snelling National Cemetery
April 20th, 2023 at 2 pm
We will be meeting inside the main gate at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 7601 34th Ave South Minneapolis, MN 55450 around 1:15-1:30 pm April 20th, 2023. We have been assigned assembly area 2 please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the service in that assembly area. Our Cemetery Representative will meet us in Assembly Area 2. From the Assembly Area, we will follow (driving) behind our Cemetery Representative to the shelter area, where Floyd Sr's service will take place. Shelters have roofs, but no walls; please dress accordingly. It will be cold and possibly raining. The National Cemetery asks that we arrive 15 minutes early (1:45pm), please do not pull into the Assembly Area more than 20 minutes early. We do not want you to get mixed in with another service. If you're running late and you need a shortcut to Assembly Area 2: please drive past the Main Gate and enter through GATE 2. Once you’ve entered the cemetery, you will see Assembly Area signs on your left-hand side. Floyd Sr's service with honors will be at 2pm so don't be late. Looks like it will rain so bring your umbrellas and dress warm. If you’re using navigation to travel to Fort Snelling National Cemetery, please ensure that you search Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you only search Fort Snelling, you may be directed to a different location. Once we wrap up Floyd Sr's service we'll make our way over to the gravesite in section 26 grave number 1385 . I will be placing the balance of the flowers on Floyd and Norma's grave. Once we wrap up at the cemetery you're all welcome to join us at Carbone's Pizzeria Bar & Grill at 55 Wentworth Ave E in West St. Paul, MN 55118 about 10 miles from the cemetery.
